It also must be noted that the ship and vehicle building rules are no longer found in the core rules book, but are completely self contained within the supplements - High Guard and Vehicles. It’s not error free, but it is comparable to pretty much every other game out there and not bad. Traveller 2nd edition had a design goal of removing this impact by a more deliberate pace of release and, considering that it is now their main line without as many other Mongoose game lines as they used to, it is much more of a priority to produce better quality (and edited books). ![]() ![]() I think, to start, we should point out that Mongoose’s bad patch when it came to editing and printing largely stemmed from trying to churn out too much too quickly. I own allot of PDF's already for MGT1E, MGT2E and CEPHEUS but my reading time is semi-limited for the short term, so I am trying to decide which version to deep dive into and try that versions construction systems. If anyone is familiar with the Vehicle and Starship construction rules in MGT1E or CEPHEUS would care to chime in on how solid the math behind their constructions systems are I'd love to hear what you have to say. Many games have claimed to allow you to build any vehicle, any tech level, any time period but in practice the rules turned out to be an imbalanced and oft incoherent mess. I ask as a sort of jaded vehicle/ship builder from other editions of Traveller and other RPG's. How is the math in the Vehicle and Starship construction rules? Is it tight and works, or is it full of errors and requires countless pages of errata to fix and even then doesn't really work. and I'm curious to know from those of you who own the rules the following. Mongoose Traveller 2nd Edition has been out for 5+ years now ( 2016 release?). ![]()
